Doug and Cindy Mickan

Doug and Cindy Mickan have been involved in some form of ministry almost all of their lives.

Doug was raised in church and began singing when he was two years old. His mom says that she walked into his room one night and saw the toddler standing on his bed, singing, "Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus." Not long after that, Doug began singing in his home church. He accepted Christ as his Savior at the age of 10. At 12, he composed his first song, "Meet Again," after his grandparents passed away in an automobile accident. Doug has been writing music ever since. At the age of sixteen, Doug took a course in ventriloquism. Despite his youth, Doug soon began to be invited to travel and minister through both puppets and music. The typical performance would last about an hour. However, despite his early success and obvious talents, Doug would not begin performing his own music until he began dating Cindy. "Without Cindy's encouragement," Doug recalls, "I probably would not have ever performed any of my own songs."

In 2001, Doug graduated from Missouri Baptist College in St. Louis with a Bachelor's degree in Music. For three years, Doug served as a Director of Music and Youth at Faith Baptist Church in St. Charles, Missouri, as well as serving for two years as Junior and Senior High Choir Director at Tower Grove Christian School in St. Louis. In 2001, Doug joined Todd West Evangelistic Ministries. He is currently the full-time Director of Worship Ministries for The Oasis Church in Maumelle, Arkansas.

Cindy Mickan is originally from Park Hills, Missouri, where she was raised as the daughter of a Baptist pastor. She was saved at the young age of only 5; worried that she was too young to understand, her father asked her several questions and before long received peace that Cindy had truly committed her life to Christ despite her youth--indeed, she accepted with the childlike faith that we should all have. Cindy was baptized a few weeks later, and the baptistery had to be modified with cinder blocks to allow her to enter. When Cindy was in the fourth grade, her father was named pastor of Temple Missionary Baptist Church in Belgrade, Missouri. At that time she began attending the same school that Doug Mickan attended. Separated only by a year, the two were acquaintances all the way through high school, but did not start dating until after Doug graduated. They married in May 1999, and lived in St. Louis, Missouri, where they both attended college.

Cindy graduated from the University of Missouri-St. Louis with a Bachelor's degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. Along with Doug, she served on staff at Faith Baptist Church for three years, working primarily in the Children's Ministry and Sunday School areas. Cindy currently serves as the full-time Director of Children's Ministries for The Oasis Church in Maumelle, Arkansas.

In the fall of 2001, Doug and Cindy released their debut album, "Let It Be Clear", and they have been performing the songs in this album in front of thousands around the country. In 2005, they released their second album, "Prelude", in 2005. Doug and Cindy live in Maumelle, Arkansas, with their daughter Saigel.
